Workshop Description


​Join us on Arbor Day for an intensive hands-on Aerial Rescue practical workshop led by Rebecca Seibel, Eric Raven, and Mitch Hoy.

Learn and grow alongside your fellow tree workers, and fulfill ANSI Z-133 recommendation about practicing incident response for aerial rescue. This workshop is particularly geared toward those aiming to fulfill requirements for the ISA Certified Tree Climber Credential. Each participant completing the practical rescue will receive a certificate of completion.​

Capacity: ​Limited to 30 participants 

Required Gear: PPE, Harness, One Rope, Climbing System

*Work climbing experience necessary*: Must be able to ascend and descend and tie your own system. At least 1 year professional climbing experience recommended (must have a minimum of 18 months work experience to apply for the Tree Climber Credential).

ISA Certified Tree Climber Credential


​This workshop is particularly geared toward those aiming to fulfill requirements for the ISA Certified Tree Climber Credential.​

​To be eligible for the exam, one must have at least 18 months work climbing experience, plus proof of hands-on training in aerial rescue, CPR, and First Aid.  To find out more about applicant, candidate, and credential holder information, visit the ISA Tree Climber credential webpage. ​

Cancellation Policy​

Cancellation notices submitted to MSA on or before April 18, 2025, will receive a refund less a $15 per registrant cancellation processing fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations after April 18.​

Instructors​

 
Dr. Gilman was on the faculty 1986-2016 as professor at the University of Florida. He received honorary membership in ASLA in 2016. Ed wrote “Illustrated Guide to Pruning” which is in its third edition. He received the Authors Citation Award in 1999, Educators Award in 2003, Research Award in 2007, and the Award of Merit (ISAs highest award) in 2016 from the International Society of Arboriculture. He has published more than 120 scientific peer reviewed journal articles on roots, planting, and pruning trees during 44 years in academia and industry. Ed has conducted more than 800 presentations to professional groups throughout his career world-wide. He now conducts training, prepares specifications, and consults for companies on arboriculture related issues.

Rob Calley serves as the small production company representative on the PPQ Committee. Rob is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist (BCMA) and Certified Arborist (CA), He is also a Certified Tree Care Safety Professional (CTSP) and has the ISA TRAQ Assessment (TRAQ) and Florida Chapter ISA PPQ. He was president of the Florida Chapter ISA in 2020 and currently serves as the Chair of the Florida Chapter Marketing Committee. He is the recipient of “The True Professional of Arboriculture Award” in 2019.​
