This annual workshop for tree care professionals is designed to improve the safety and efficiency of aerial work in trees through discussion, demonstrations, and hands-on experience. Be ready to learn from some of the most skilled and qualified tree climbers in Minnesota!
Instructors:
- Mitch Hoy – ArborWise Tree Management
- Rebecca Seibel – Tree Spirit Consulting
Topics:
- How to check your gear for safety
- Dialing-in ascent systems to make the process more efficient
- Comparing and contrasting the various mechanical devices on the market
- Setting up and organizing tools on your climbing harness for success
Beginner to advanced industry levels are welcome, but it is encouraged that participants have some familiarity with fundamental rope and saddle tree climbing or have worked on a crew with a climbing arborist.
Required PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, proper work pants, and work boots. Participants also need to bring their own gear (saddle, ropes, anchor points, climbing devices, and hardware). All climbing gear must meet the ANSI Z133 safety standards.
